Laos-inspired supper club – Saturday 18 July

Join us for a Laos-inspired supper club on Saturday 18th July 2015.

Until we planned this menu we’d forgotten quite how delicious traditional Laotian and North Thai food is. It’s one of the more spicy of South East Asian cuisines so you better let us know if you don’t like it hot!

Here are the details:
The menu: Three courses of Laos-inspired dishes. Green papaya, chilli, lime, peanuts, sticky rice, barbecued sweet soy chicken, tamarind, mint, coriander and lemon grass.

Menu for 18 July 2015

Duo of Laap – Zingy herb salads with ground roasted sticky rice, chicken and prawns

Paired with Hoegaarden, Belgian Witbier (4.9% ABV)

Festival Barbecued Chicken

Sticky Rice & Jeow Mak Len (Lao Tomato Salsa)

Green Papaya Salad

Paired with Leytonstone Brewhouse ‘Respect your Elders’, Elderflower Pale Ale (4.2% ABV)

Luang Prabang Eclairs with Chocolate, Chilli & Mango

Paired with Leytonstone Brewhouse False Bottom Porter (4% ABV)

Green Tea and Petit Fours

The beer: Bring along a bottle or two of beer, or anything else you fancy drinking. We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again – German-style wheat beers (Erdinger Weissbier for example) complement fragrant SE Asian flavours and cut through the heat really well. Lager would be the traditional Laos favourite. As usual, we will be providing a taste of a beer with each course.
The time: 7pm to 11pm, Saturday 18th July 2015
The place: Our home in Leytonstone, E11 4PR. Details will follow once you’ve booked.
The cost: Suggested donation of £32 per person, payable in advance please. For three courses.

Booking is essential. Please email leytonstonebrewhouse@gmail.com with your name, number of places and any dietary requirements.
